Maryborough's timber homes were wired for a different era: one power point a room, a single light in the middle of the ceiling, fans added later if at all. Extra power points, ceiling fans and LED lighting are the three jobs we do most in pre-1990 Maryborough houses, and if we are coming for your smoke alarms, tell us when you book and we add the electrical to the same visit.

  • One clear rate. $130 an hour plus parts, and we give you the price on the phone before you book.
  • Already working in Maryborough. Our crews work in Maryborough, Tinana and Granville.
  • Based in the Wide Bay. Head office at 82 George St, Bundaberg, with crews working across Maryborough.

While we're there

Add it to your smoke alarm visit.

Every Queensland home needs interconnected photoelectric alarms by 1 January 2027, and our crews are in Maryborough homes doing exactly that. Tell us when you book and we add the electrical to the same visit: the fan, the power point or the downlights, one trip, one invoice, no second trade to chase.

Quick answers

Electricians in Maryborough, asked and answered.

How much does a ceiling fan install cost in Maryborough?

$130 an hour plus parts, and we give you the price on the phone before you book. Replacing an existing fan with one you supply is the quickest version of the job; a fan in a new position with no wiring in the ceiling takes longer, and we tell you what to expect when you call. We install the fan you have bought or quote one from the van.

How do you charge?

$130 an hour plus parts; we give you the price on the phone before you book, and parts are quoted with the job. If the job turns out bigger than described, we tell you before going further.

Can you do the electrical work on the same visit as my smoke alarms?

Yes: tell us when you book and we add the electrical to the same visit as your smoke alarm check or upgrade, so one electrician brings the parts for both jobs. One visit, one invoice.

How do I book?

Call (07) 4159 1997 or send the form on this page with the job and your suburb. We give you the price on the phone, agree a day with you (we work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm), and the electrician arrives with the parts for the job.

Do you do emergency or after-hours electrical work?

No. Quickcheck works business hours only, 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, and we do not attend after hours; for anything that can wait, call us during business hours. If power is out across the house or you smell burning, switch the main off at the switchboard and call Ergon Energy on 13 22 96 for a supply fault or 000 for a fire.
